My Story

Charles Walters Rainey IV (Chuck IV)

Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York, and raised in South Florida, Charles Walters Rainey IV, also known as Chuck IV, has built a diverse and fulfilling career shaped by his love for music, business, and community service. At an early age, he discovered his passion for music, starting with the trombone in 4th grade before transitioning to the tuba in high school, influenced by the musical talents within his family. Chuck marched with both The Plantation High School Marching Band and the Dillard High School Marching Band, "The Force," in Fort Lauderdale, where he refined his musical and leadership skills.

After high school, Chuck pursued various career paths, eventually finding success in retail management. He quickly rose through the ranks at Eckerd Drug Store and later held general manager positions at well-known brands like Ritz Camera, Subway, Sprint PCS, and Global Wireless. Under his leadership, Global Wireless expanded into a successful franchise along the East Coast. He then shifted industries, following a path that resonated with his family’s experience in broadcasting, joining the radio industry at 105.7 Kiss FM in Greensboro, NC. There, he developed lasting relationships and collaborated with mentors who had a profound impact on his professional journey.

With extensive experience in retail and sales, Chuck made the leap into entrepreneurship by founding The Rainey Group. His business channels his passion for helping others, offering guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs and nonprofit founders. His dedication to community service extends to his role on the Board of Directors for the Beta Phi Delta Foundation Inc. and its subsidiaries, the Creative Arts Unity Foundation and Beta Phi Delta Fraternity, where he supports arts education for students.

Chuck is a proud father and dedicated role model to many. His daughter is currently pursuing her education at Bethune-Cookman University, continuing a legacy of academic excellence. His goddaughter, a graduate of UNC Charlotte with a focus in Behavioral Studies for children and criminal justice, recently welcomed her first daughter, adding another generation to the family. Chuck is also a guiding presence for his three godsons: one is a high school junior aspiring to become a lawyer, another is an 11-year-old trombone player following in Chuck’s musical footsteps, and the youngest is a bright 9-year-old third grader. In addition, Chuck is a loving uncle to his 15-year-old nephew and a playful, doting uncle to his 4-year-old niece. His life is deeply enriched by the joy and promise of the young people he nurtures, mentors, and loves as his own.

Today, Chuck is not only the CEO of The Rainey Group LLC but also serves as the Director of Logistics for Trips R Dayz Travel Company. He sits on the Board of Directors for four foundations, including his roles as Vice Chairman of Beta Phi Delta Fraternity, Vice President of Creative Arts Unity Foundation, Vice President of Beta Phi Delta Foundation Inc., as well as Additionally, he is the Vice President of The Youth Education and Travel Group. Known for his passion for giving back, Chuck is approachable and always eager to engage in conversation.
