2025 Beta Phi Delta
Royal Blue
Scholarship Award Winner
Andrew Griffiths
The 2025 Beta Phi Delta Scholarship Award proudly honors Andrew Griffiths, a scholar, musician, leader, and community champion who has spent the last eight years building an extraordinary legacy at Dillard High School. With a 3.78 GPA and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Andrew exemplifies the values of Beta Phi Delta: leadership, service, and resilience.
For Andrew, the Dillard High School Marching Band has been more than an extracurricular activity—it has been a family and a foundation. As a standout percussionist in The Force, he has played both tenor and snare drums, while also contributing his talents on marimba and trombone. His musical journey is also marked by his participation in Take One Drumline, Wind Orchestra (where he played bassoon and marimba), Jazz Band, and SoundCheck Be Heard. Beyond school, he serves as a musician at Eternal Light Ministries and has been a multi-instrumentalist with the ASM Group’s High Voltage ensemble, playing everything from drums and guitar to keyboard and bass. But Andrew’s talents are not confined to music. He has embraced leadership with passion and purpose. Crowned Mr. Dillard 2025, he also served as President of the Black Student Union, Vice President of the Health Information Project, Chairperson of the Broward County Association of Student Councils (BCASC), and Student Representative for the Save Promise Club and School Advisory Council. His leadership continues into sports as the Captain of both the Soccer and Tennis teams, and into civic engagement with the YMCA, Sole to the Pole, and Florida Rising. His extensive commitment is underscored by accolades such as Broward County Outstanding Senior Leader Finalist, the NSU Kindness Award, ASM High Voltage 1st Place Competition Winner, and the affectionate title Mr. Do It All, Class of 2025.
Andrew’s story is one of transformation. Once a shy student, he found his voice and strength through the supportive camaraderie of the marching band—an environment that taught him to persevere through rigorous summer drills, find confidence in high-stakes performances, and extend kindness to others, often in small but impactful ways. He now pays it forward by mentoring younger students and cultivating inclusion wherever he leads.
His journey has been marked by gratitude and guidance, acknowledging mentors like Dr. McClean, TeaJay, the Take One Drumline, The Force team, and Mr. Voshaun Smith. Both his band director and assistant principal commend him for his dedication, humility, and servant leadership. Mr. Smith describes Andrew as “a remarkable student with limitless potential,” while Assistant Principal Patrick Lowe praises him as “a charismatic and tireless leader whose spirit has transformed our campus.”
Andrew Griffiths will be attending Florida A&M University in Fall 2025, where he intends to continue his mission of excellence, leadership, and service. His legacy at Dillard High School and the greater Broward community sets a powerful example for future generations. Beta Phi Delta Foundation proudly salutes Andrew Griffiths as the 2025 Scholarship Award Recipient.
